    Blah Cheap Auto gate Opener

Anyone know of a "cheap" version of this DIY kit?

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics...n-74859070.htm

I could buy an actuator, wireless remote and make a control circuit, but I'm Lazy..... and if I could pick sometime up for around $400 ish then I'd bee keen.

I only need to open a small gate (2m high, 1.5m wide), but I do need the wireless remote, getting 240V out to the gate ising a problem

    Any suggestions?

Saw an Automatic Garage Door Opener once that had been converted to open a gate as i think that they are'nt all that dear to buy and come with a Remote Control.
The unit was mounted on a wall on angle brackets and had a short chain drive onto a cog that was fitted to the hinge pin of the gate. The gate travel can be adjusted by setting the "up" and "down" limit switches on the underside of the main unit.
I was quite impressed with this set-up at the time and thought that i would try it myself sometime on the front gate, but have never got around to it.
Hope this info may help you.
    Cheers
