Priceless was seeing the cop car stop and point to where they went over the edge last year (on the TV news) - lights, sirens, action. Good to see the lads have a sense of humour hown on the box.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Yeah it was pretty amazing to go have a look see at them all the other evening while they were all parked up at Centre City (N/P). It's amazing the varity of cars and age of the cars. Probably was just as amazing to see what was inside them. Some had nice roomy engines that looked liked they'd be easy to work with while others it was I think the engine is under that pile of stuff somewhere.
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.

The Targa rally takes in the road I live on. I'm keen to see if they will let me do a demo run on the 10

Anybody know what it would take to get a Targa for bikes going?

Based on my experience so far with this forum, getting the nutters shouldn't be that difficult. And Cowpoos must know a bit about hay bales. I imagine that commercially it wouldn't have much going for it because of the sponsorship problems that seem to go with motorcycling. What I'm really curious about is what would be required to get an "officially sanctioned" event running. If I'm reading you correctly, it would involve making the course as safe as possible because of the greater risk of harm to riders if we stuff up, and logistically that is too difficult. Who would have to "sanction" or give approval for an event like a Targa for motorcycles?

Went and saw them at Manfeild yesterday afternoon then caught up with some of the drivers I know in Feilding.

The organisers of that stage needed their arses kicked for not telling the drivers how tight the chicane is as you enter pit lane. Guy in an Anglia came down at full noise and slammed straight into the wall, wrecking his chances of continuing in the event. Luckily the Porsche right behind him had good brakes or he would have done the same. Then they got some fat guy from the crowd to stand about 20 feet from the entrance, waving them to slow down. Didn't work very well, another half a dozen cars nearly clipped the wall too. Crazy!

Steve Millen's car was awesome, got an autographed poster of that as a souvenir. Beautiful cars, lucky buggers, wish I'd never sold my racing overalls and helmet now...
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Youd have massive problems with a bike targa, course notes read out by your nav/co driver are a bit part of being able to "safely" push the vehicle to the limit around a course you dont know by heart, I doubt your going to be able to find anyone whose going to hold a clipboard and hold on at the same time!
Perhaps a com system in the helmet that picks up signals before each corner that says what the corner is like. Or a playstation game to learn the course from.

Bike targa, could get big, overseas riders, pit girls. hmmmmmm
