Smile How did you hook up?

OK, I just thought that this thread could be interesting.

All you guys and gals in here who are married or who have been living with their partner for a reasonable ammount of time, would you like to share how you first got together? :love2:

Met mine at a New Years Eve party given by another girl (the one I was getting my hopes up over).
Our 29th anniversary last sunday (that long enough?)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Well my groom's speech at my wedding explains it all:

"As some of you will know, every year there is a folk festival in the Oxfordshire village of Cropredy. A regular bunch of us would meet up each year. One year, one of the regular crowd brought someone with her - her daughter Laura.

Over the next couple of years we would meet and talk... then one year sitting in a field with a combination of a hell of a lot of cider, freezing cold weather and the need to share body heat... and one thing led to another. And four years later, here we are on our wedding day.

The moral of this story is; if you're drunk and you find something on the floor in the middle of a field... for God's sake leave it there!"

Known each other since 1995, got together in 1998, married in 2002. We honeymooned on the South Oxford Canal, just so we could travel to the village where we first met!

We've also been in the local (to the village) newspaper (Banbury Guardian) because of our meeting at the festival - they ran a feature on us a couple of years back. Nice to become a piece of festical history, seeing as it is how we first met.

Met mine at the college judo club...you could say she fell for me minutes after meeting her I threw her to the floor, jumped on top of her and held her there.

That was 24 years ago...we were engaged for 4 years and just coming up for 19 married.

Once Open a Toim, I met Mrs FS in her Student Village room the day before uni started - Feb 28 1978 - when a friend of hers invited me and another weird mate of mine there. She was not amused (and also thought we were weirdos).
I thought she had nice hair (and she still does). We got on OK after that, but a couple of weeks later at a dance she ignored me. So I went off with her friend. As you do. When you've been rebuffed, and your 'girlfriends' friend thinks you're nice.
Next time I saw her, she told me to get lost. Normally I would have, but this time I thought, "Hello; that's weird - she seems quite upset, there's something going on here!" and persisted. (And a friggin persisting persister I was too.)
Eventually we sorted out the misunderstanding, :love2: and even more eventually ended up living together for a few years :love2: :love2: , then even even more eventually (1982) we got married, :love2: :love2: :love2: had three weirdos of our own, and moved to Christchurch, Tauranga and D'Auckland.
And they all lived happily ever after.

    The End.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
