You said a mouthful there, nothing like "plodding" through to say Springs Junction from Christchurch or similar to appreciate the scenery we have, gives you time to look around instead of doing a warp-factor 3 fang through a twisty bit and being totally focussed on you corner line, potential blind spots/obstacles about 300 yards ahead etc.(of course there's nothing wrong with a good fang now and them either)Originally Posted by XJ/FROSTY

" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
My opinions of Americans:
Most Americans who have travelled the world/end up here in NZ for a holiday outside tour busses and luxury cruises, have an incredibly refreshing and highly interesting perspective on both NZ and the rest of the world, including america. Those americans who have not travelled beyond the guided tour/cruise ship style, have little regard for any other culture apart from looking at it from the outside and commenting on it's oddities/quaintness. I think it is to do with the size of the country. Why go overseas when you could spend a lifetime in your own country? In fact, why learn about other cultures at all? There is little incentive....
Not a slight on americans per se, just my attempt to rationalise what I observe.
Queiro voya todo Europa con mi moto.... pero no tengo suficiente tiempo o dinero.....
Enjoyed reading responses to my post in regards to "yankee/merkin/american bashing.
Admit, I was surprised by some, but I do appreciate you sharing your views and I do feel as if some have given me something to think about.
Thanks again.
Maybe I'll get to meet some of you at the Cold Kiwi
Safe Journeys to you & yours
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ...
"WOW!! WHAT A RIDE!"
My wife is not into biking but she did marry a fatboy...![]()
"does ride" would have been better than "did marry"Originally Posted by greenhorn
