    Star Wars vs. Star Trek

Ok... so who's a fan of which (or neither)?

I'm personally more of a fan of Star Wars... but I know there are die-hard trekkie fans out there too

Dunno if this has been done before.. if so - humble apologies

Anything with spacecraft and teratonne weaponry gets my vote. I guess I'm more of a Trekkie though.
Imagine how cool Star Trek could be if they spent as much money on it as the new Star Wars films.

But saying all that, Firefly is the most awesome of all. Serenity the movie, ahh sweetness.
It was the grimy-ness, the lived-in feeling, that made it so cool. The main thing that bugs me about ST is how clean everything is.

    I'd like to see a bigger poll, with;

    Star Trek
    Star Wars
    Red Dwarf
    Babylon 5
    Firefly
    Dr Who
    Stargate SG1
    Lexx
    Battlestar Galactica
And others up to the 10 max poll options.
Maybe I'll do this in 6 months or so, once this poll is had its time.

Personally i would pick star trek, because they get into the science side of it abit more, they use theorys that could be possable given the right elements, where star wars just engage the lightspeed hyper drive and next thing they arrive at a new planet, i mean even travelling at lightspeed it would take 4 years to reach our nearest star. But i do love star wars too, its problery more realistic in their approch to how aliens would look. Like in star trek alot of aliens look human, where in star wars most aliens are very alien indeed. Considering the age of both ideas its amazing that both themes are still going strong. Apparantly some technology from star trek has made its way into our real lifes. The idea for cellphones came from star trek "Krik here, beam me up scotty" Its quite exciting to think that maybe oneday even transporters may be in use, step in here, step out in USA, or anywhere. We`ve come a long way in only 100 years, imagine what we`ll have in another 100. My grandmother was telling me how she remembers when calculators first came out, they used to work it out on paper aswell, just incase the calculator was wrong. In my life time ive seen microwaves become household items, cellphones invented, personal computers in nearly every house, fuel injection and computer controled ignition become mainstream in vehicles. Its heartening to see my grandparents using computers with ease, it means that what ever amazing new technology were in for next, we`ll be able to adjust and use it like we always had it. Any way, im rambling again, my vote, star trek, and star wars a close second place.
