    1987 Suzuki NZ250

    Mentioned it before:

    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ighlight=nz250

Got the new WOF. Then got a new plate when the old one fell off as I was mounting the new WOF. Then got another new WOF with the new plate number on it.

...so now ready to get fully serious about selling. Pictures and all.

    It's also on Trade Me:

    and now...

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...n-59641084.htm

Price will be less than $1000; but I don't know exactly how much less.

    WOF to 06/08
    License to 29/10

    Cheers,

    P.S.

Have recently added off Trade Me:
    1. Spare fuel tank. Unpainted. A bit dented in the sides. (Trader said it had no dents!)
    2. Spare set of side covers. Some lugs missing (Trader said all there!), but no cracks or missing visible bits.
    3. Spare headlight and tail light.

    P.S.2.
Have just noticed small leak from body of fuel tap; will see to that this weekend, hopefully.

    P.S.3.
Completely stripped fuel tap, cleaned and cleaned some more. Refitted with new fibre washers. No leaks (yet). Bike running fine.

    Cheers,

    Hi C_A,

Re: rust. I don't think it's about to fall apart or anything, but it does seem quite rusty. When the fork seals were done, the bolts holding the front guard on had to be cold chisled off (so brand new bolts there).

I'm half tempted to keep it and do it up, as a way to learn more mechanicalness. One thing I'd do, then, would be to strip it, sand blast it, and re-paint the frame.

Having said that, I think it'll go for a good few years more as is. Mostly surface rust.

Re oil. I put new oil and a filter in it about 5 months ago. The oil went dark quick (dunno how old the previous oil was...), but it has all stayed in there since (no need to top up).

When I bought it, it did leak some oil from one of the radiator conectors; but I replaced the copper washers at the same time I did the oil change - and no problems since.

    Thanks.

200Busa and Urban Myth; thanks also for your notes. What's it cost to put a bike over the ferry? I'd almost consider personally delivering to Nelson...

    Cheers,

i would ride to Picton with mate and ride it back-would make a good days ride.Since i sold the cage - using the Busa every day getting a bit expensive, chewing through the tires.

    Yep,

My new bike isn't exactly a 'Busa, but I was thinking of keeping the NZ for the same kind of reason.

I decided I just don't ride enough for that to be worthwhile (e.g. commute in the car, with the wife).

    Stupid Licensing fees.

Do you have someone you trust in the Wellington area who can look at it for you?

(I'm trying to be very honest about describing the bike, but nothing beats actually looking at it and riding it).

Hi, have you sold it yet?
    Motorbike only search
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - CRC AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE CRC. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
