Rio MotoGP *** WARNING! SPOILERS! ***

    Well.

I got the impression that Rossi was having a few difficulties with the Yam before he lost it. He was obviously pushing it enormously for a while there - he lost a noticeable amount of ground to the RCVs every time down the front straight and always reeled it right back in through the corners. I thought the comment from the Gauloises team boss about Rossi not being happy with the suspension setup pre-race was telling.

But the best bit was seeing Tamada walk right up to and past Biaggi in the last few laps. Almost effortless, it looked.

Hopefully next season the other manufacturers will sort out their power deficiencies against the Honda V5, and the very worthy Kenny Roberts will get a bike that can stay with the pack.

I think KR Jr has a bike that will now stay with the pack. We saw that at Catalunya after he pitted for a tyre change and in qualifying at Rio.

What he needs is some tyres that will allow him to do so.

The Bridgestones still lack the development enjoyed by Michelin and shame on Suzuki for changing at the beginning of this year.

    Yep Tamada was on 'stones.

See the Yamaha boys comments here http://www.cyclenews.com/ShowStory.asp?HeadlineID=6361

Basically Rossi was playing catch up and decked it for the first time in a race for 3 years.

Hayden did OK and I understand the HRC bosses had a bit of a fireside chat with him beforehand about his previous performances - seemd to work http://www.cyclenews.com/ShowStory.asp?HeadlineID=6360

Erv Kanemoto is helping Suzuki these days and it seems to be helping for Roberts but Hopkins was nowhere.

Interesting to read these articles posted by Colin Edwards Senior http://www.ceracing.com/phpBB2/viewt...1a525eadf5ebe1 and http://www.ceracing.com/phpBB2/viewt...1a525eadf5ebe1

Interesting that the might of Honda doesn't seem to be gelling with Michelin and their chassis and tyre development is losing the battle against Yamaha. Probably just goes to show what pull Rossi and Burgess have as they are getting what they need and without them Honda seem to be a bit directionless if you believe Colin's words.
