    Lovin IT

This just shows what a freakin awesome MotoGP season we had.

Personally, I think that Padrosa will be the star in the future, that is if he can learn to ride in the wet, mind you!

    Bring on next year!

Flattrack is different than the dirt riding Rossi would do in Europe - on a Mile they do 140mph on the straights and throw it sideways in the corners at over 100mph,that is why the American's are so good at high speed slides....not because they fang around an MX track. And as Ivan points out, even the ''slower'' speeds on a 1/4 mile speedway are damn fast riding hard out, totaly different to off road riding.....but all skills are usefull to add to your package.

Right, so how much flat tracking has Marco Melandri and Toni Elias done in the past?

They started using rear brakes in the '70's Merv, not used in the traditional sense on the track.

Here's another good shot of Nicky,it really shows he's riding the bike in a different style than the others.Brings to mind the Kenny Roberts maxim - ''You'll never lose the front if you're on the gas'' Look how often Stoner and Pedrosa lose the front wheel....how often does Hayden go down from a front wheel tuck?

Well, he went down from a front wheel tuck in Portugal, just happened to be Pedrosa's wheel.....

Great picture Motu! To me, that picture shows just how much they ride those 990's like 250's now. Huge lean angles with lots of corner speed....it's no wonder the young guns coming up from the 250's are going so well.
They're not really simply getting into the corner as deep as poss then picking them up and squirting them out like they used to with the 500's.
Can you dig up some pics from the early to mid nineties as a comparison?

I bet the 90's era guys are 'sitting on top' of the bikes more....shoulders open.

Also....how many more laps do you think the Ducati's rear tyre would do?

100% correct there, and hats off to Bayliss and Capirossi!

But......I doubt the tyre in that picture would've won a 30 lap race.
