Been there, done that for many months a while back.

It will be very frustrating for him, and will probably make him angry and other side effects.
If its possible to convey to him that it WILL get better, and support to that effect works wonders on a drugged up sedated mind usually.
Times passes so slowly when you are that side of the bed, but with the time passing, health improves.

My neighbour spent several months in Burwood this year after a fall from a horse and she's doing ok now, its taken a while but she's up and about ok.

Pass on my best wishes, and convey from my experiences that it may seem a real bastard now, but it will get better.

Hey Inline, we gathered just over a couple of hundred dollars on the Coro loop for you yesterday.
Thank ZRXer for organising the whip around.

    Red face Another Update

    Hi everyone
I am back from Chch again following a long week of sitting with my man and talking to him and not getting any response - did remind me of being at home with him and him sitting there with his laptop engrossed in this site and me talking to him and not getting any response!!
John remains sedated but his infection is under control and the CT scan today showed that his lungs are finally healing and there is very little fluid left in them now (hurray) He is still needing a lot of help with his breathing though so the respirator remains in place and they are still discussing whether they will do the trachestomy or not - the type they want to do is a temporary measure and he still will be unable to talk but he doesn't have to be sedated which will be good.
He is looking good and the doctors are all really optimistic - he is going to be okay but it is just taking a long time for the healing process to happen
Thanks again for all your support, best wishes and monetary donations - all of us in John's whanau are just overwhelmed with the love and support that has been shown to us.
I will make sure I log on every couple of evenings and keep you all up-to-date on what is happening. I phone Christchurch every day just to keep up-to-date
Speedy girl - that is one awesome chick and I feel honoured to know her.

We were planning a small family wedding but what the hell we may need to have one hell of a reception that is open to all Kiwibikers that want to come!!

Thanks for the update Donna. Something positive like you mention will be brilliant medicine for John too. We are thinking of you both, always.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Thanks for the update, your analogy with the laptop made me smile

The idea for the wedding is looking like something that many of us here would want to be present for.

    Take care of you both.

Being relitively new here I haven't had the privilage of speaking to Inline...

However hearing that another biker has had an off is never good... I hope he is doing well and recovers quickly..

    Best regards
