Just gotten home from spending the the whole day and evenings with my friend being his 'buddy' support person up at "Hearty Towers" Greenlane Hospital, who has had a double lung transplant a few weeks back. Did it Monday as well til his partner got there to take over the night shift after she finished work.
Donna - Thank you so much for your recent update.
You guys are in my thoughts all the time.

Mr Inline Four is doing okay - he has all them nurses running around after him while he lies back in bed and snoozes all day. He is much better now that he has got the tracheotomy and able to be less sedated, although still a bit dazed and confused. Seems to understand what he is being told though. Still no word on when he will be well enough to have visitors or when he will be moved to Burwood. My guess is that we will all know when he feels better because the first thing he will ask for is his computer! Speedygirl will let him know where the thread is as she is looking after his his laptop (and other toys) at her place.
You guys are all awesome and I am serious about having a huge reception for our wedding. I am planning it for early February 2008 around Waitangi Day so that it can be a weekend thing. Will post more details as I plan them.
Best wishes Donna aka Coaster
Thanks for the update, Donna, you are in our thoughts constantly. Best wishes to you both.

asked Mom if I was a gifted child ... she said they certainly wouldn't have paid for me.
Cheers Donna for your update.......
You take care of yourself as well...... all this running around and flying up and down the country will leave you very tired indeed. So do get to rest as well.
John, thinking about you heaps........ keep doing as the drs and nurses tell you..... and no argueing back at them, yep not even with your eyes....

Haven't been on KB for quite a long time, but when I was first on IL4 was one who had positive things to say to me both on the forums and in the chatroom. Never had a chance to meet him in person but he came across as a really decent guy. I just can't believe it's happened. Can't turn my back for 5 minutes, honestly!
Just don't know what to say, I'm totally gutted that one of KB's finest (and a decent Canterbury bloke) has had that happen. My thoughts are with you guys absolutely. I'm glad you're still kicking IL4. Just remember that as long as you can draw breath you don't give up fighting this thing.
Any update on when he can take visitors? I leave for England in a little over two weeks, but I'd like to be able to drop in and visit if it's in any way possible. I'll be sure to bring something tasty in with me

Soapbox house of cards and glass, so don't go tossing your stones around.
You musta been.... high. You musta been...
The biking community never ceases to warm the cockles of my heart, and the KB one does it twice over. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of you guys yet, but those whom I've chatted with on KB have been nothing but friendly, helpful and amusing.
It's absolutely awful to hear about another biker getting injured like this, but reading through this thread really does go to show how much support you guys give each other - absolutely brilliant!
Here's wishing John, family and friends a fast road back to happyville.
What a difference indifference can make
thanks for the updates Donna - stay strong hon ..
& as soon as you have dates for the wedding I will book the days off from work![]()
