Have to concur with most of the (on topic) posts here. I don't know you except through KB but can't help but be moved by your situation.

Having been confined to a wheelchair, (which I never thought I'd get out of), I have personal experience of the challenges you face. It is great to see you have a good sense of humour and the strong support of so many friends and family.

Once a biker, always a biker and never think you don't belong here because you can no longer ride.

All the best for your rehabilitation, perhaps you and Paul can be of encouragement and support to each other, as well.

Mrs. Edbear and I offer our kindest regards and thoughts.

Hey John keep the RD250LC and mount its engine in your wheel chair, next week when I get a new arc welder I'm mounting a 125cc two stroke (GT125 p-twin ) into a wheel chair. The engine is dropping one cylinder and the points are fucked so need to do some modifying with exhuast and shit but she still pulls 60 kmp/h in an RG frame on the one cylinder so all good. Give you a race!

I reckon a trike Chariot would be kool....So instead of the engine in the back like most have ..have a normal position motor then have an area thats like a chariot with ramps in the back that way john just rolls on in pulls up the ramp and off he goes wonder if you used a shaft driven bike as a start then add an axle and diff and build the area above for the wheelchair with the handle bars coming right back .

wonder if we have any mechanics with the parts etc to be able to build something like that .

Trikeworks Taupo have done quite a few cool bike-ta-trike conversions. Most Trikes I've seen have the engine in "normal" bike position. Racey Rider had a cool avatar of a R1 trike at one time.
The only one's I've seen with the engine in the back are the homey VW conversion jobs.

Are we allowed to visit you in mass?
As you know we are coming through CHCH next month and I thought it would be good to make a KB get together and visit you?

    Hi John

It was good to catch up with you today (finally)
Great to see you in good spirits and to generally talk about things in general.

We look forward to catching up with you in the Naki, and dont forget to stir those Cantabs up when they get beaten by the Canes

    Cheers Scott

It was good to meet you & Scott yesterday!

I luv your humour! & hope to get out to see you again sometime.
Cantabs don't need to be too worried about the Canes winning we should be more worried about you running over our toes in malls deliberately while doing a wheelie at the time

Breaking Up is Hard to Do

To everyone who has been so supportive over the past 7 months - thanks I really appreciate it. There is no easy way to put this but John has decided that he wants to go his own way and has broken off our engagement - actually he has broken off our relationship completely and just wants to be friends!!!

This has absolutely blown me away as I was not expecting it at all but life has to go on and you either get on with it or lose it!

See you all around on the site

    Donna
