RE Stoner crashing and why has he still got as ride.
Simple really, most good team managers know you can make fast, but sometimes crash prone rider stay on, but you can't ever make a slow but stable rider fast....
is there an echo in here??
eeewwwwwwwww they don't look too good! the ducati would have to be the worst, I duno whats up with the new idea they have come up with for the tail because if anything it LESS aerodynamic! and ugly!
but yeah in 3 months we'll probably be saying how cool these things look!

Aerodynamics. The 500s and mid to late '90s 250s had quite a bulbous rear behind the rider to smooth the flow of air spilling off the bike and rider at high speed and to push it further behind the bike before it broke off into a turbulent wall of air that the bike then had to tow. This effect gets worse the faster you go, and this is what prevented early jet aircraft like the Convair F102 from breaking the speed of sound. Then someone read some captured WW2 German data on the "Whitcomb area rule" and the classic "coke bottle" fuselage cross section was born. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitcomb_area_rule
I've been reading my old texts, and Honda look like they've resurrected a cunning plan from the 1950's era of jets.
The drag from the bike's front and the rider will be forced into a vortex by the tip of the rear seat unit that will be pushed off by the lip on the rear tyre hugger. The wall of air will be below the centre of mass of the bike when it breaks away and directed downward. If I read that section right that is. This will create downforce on the unsprung mass (wheel and swingarm assembly) but not the rear body work, thereby ensuring the nose stays firmly planted at 300km/hr and rear wheel has plenty of grip and is less likely to spin at high speeds.
NIce.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
No doubt he will. I'm under no illusion that the boy isn't a spritely, quick bugger, because he's been qualifying with the 'big kids' and finished around the top 5 throughout season, particularly at the start before getting into the habit of biffing it. High points include 6th at Jerez, 5th at Qatar, and 2nd at Turkey. Also 5th in China...
Stoner and Pedrosa were both new to MotoGP this year, however Pedrosa took to the RCV like a duck to water and was awarded 'Rookie of the Year'. Meanwhile, Stoner it seems never really came to grips (sic) with the RCV's front end, losing it several times throughout the championship.
Low-lights: Mugello - Highside, Catlunya - front end tuck, Sachsenring - crash during w/up; unfit to race, Laguna - lost the front, Motegi - crashed, Estoril - high-side, Valencia - (cameraman didn't even bother to show us) crashed...
But I think he will go off on the Ducati with the promise of higher corner speeds and low engine inertia inherent in the Desmo design. Oh yes... it will be good~![]()
Keep it rubber-side down...

Yeah mate...the latest 'all in' test with all of the factory 800's and he was quicker than Capirossi......with no biffs!
Bring on next season! You just know that Rossi won't want to retire from bikes unless he's on top.....Pedrosa will want to start off in front of Nicky...I really think the Suzuki is coming of age....Melandri an Elias have points to prove...wish it was starting this weekend!![]()
re the echo, so I didn't haver my glasses on and I had a custard pie in one hand and the mouse in the other....
That was no mouse. I don't think it was custard either.

Okay, got me there, I twinked it out on the screen and I can't work out why it still came up when I hit reply....
