    Xtra's new pricing plans

    http://xtraplans.co.nz/unleashed/plans_table.html

The go large plan is very interesting for p2p users,
$49.95 unlimited with speeds of max/128k. Attached is a fair use policy of using no more than 700megs between 4pm-midnight if you repeatly go over this you get a warning, then repeat put in the sinbin(but thats only for that time of day)

Most intesting part is they are not now days 3.5meg etc etc it is now just max, which we all know most people who are meant to be on a 3.5meg plan are getting 2meg 2.5meg if they are lucky

Personally i might look at moving to this plan myself.

Your internet traffic will also be managed if you are using p2p software at this time.

Finally! Now we are starting to get somewhere. Unlimited internet for $50/month. I wonder how annoying the limited traffic things will be with the p2p?

Hey Cowpoos, if you download more than 700Mb in a night you will be slowed to dialup speeds!

Commerce commission is looking into the plans... Why don't people trust what Telecom are offering?

    I"m on 4 mbit cable.
Slows down to 200kbit as soon as I leave NZ. And this isn't just xtra. I think that there are problems now with the connections with NZ to the rest of the world.

(I've been using http://www.speedtest.net/index.php to test,as well as direct file transfers)

There's a difference between Xtra and Telecom. Xtra pay no less for the core DSL service than any other isp, that's what unbundling is about.

Personally I'm up for Go Large. $50 per month for max download speed and no cap. Only having to slow down p2p during peak hours, regular web surfing during peak hours will still be at full speed.

We'll wait to see what the other ISPs release, but if I'd offered you the Go Large plan 6 months ago you would have jumped at it... can't please some people.

Upload speeds are still really crap though.... Unless you go for the pro ones, which are the same price as now. I don't like how they saying they will give you max speed either.....
It just means they will blame your phone lines for crappy speeds..
