Is the bridge where it happened a one way bridge by any chance?
Bugger sounds like they need a shake up thats not good practice.
just cause an oversize load has a pilot doesnt give them any more rights on the road ...in fact we need to be more responsible than normal.

From what I heard at the rally.. this couple had 6 kids!! (I don't know if that is accurate or not...) A terrible loss to our motorcycling 'family'!!

At the rally, the band played "Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd, in dedication to the couple. May they rest in peace.. together forever, cruising the open roads in freedom.

My thoughts & love go to their family & friends.

Yup - read the same thing and it sent a shudder straight through me.

It was something that haunted us for years while our kids were little and a major reson why we didn't ride together much then.

RIP you two - Didn't know you but we shared the same wind...

Did the rally organising club/group do/contribute anything toward the family?

I hear this Nelson rally is very large and takes ALOT of money.

Good question.. it needs to be clarified first however..

IF they were coming up here for the NRTC Rally at the Maitai Camp.. OR, as I understand it.. there was some kind of HOG gathering here too over the same weekend.. PLUS I heard that one of the 'gangs'.. (dunno which one) was having some kind of gathering too.. so.. if it can be confirmed exactly WHICH event the couple were coming too.. we can go from there...
