    Cool My New Bike - 2006 Suzuki GSR600

    What a great bike. It has a detuned GSXR600 engine (that is all the technical stuff you will get from me).
    It is soo easy to ride, very smooth. I reckon it is a great ladies bike - not to be sexist! it has a nice low (but not too low) seat height and I know there are a few ladies who have trouble finding a bike that is not too tall.
    It is very stylie, cool indicators, pipes under the seat and led rear lights. the front is reminiscent of the Cagiva Raptor. I love the blue colour.
    It is strange not haveing any fairings or screen but it is something to get used to. I don't get buffeted by the wind, it is a continuous pressure taking the stress off the wrists. the more upright position also helps. I may get a screen at a later date. I don't think I will be going at hugely fast speeds as the wind pressure gets too great, but I don't want to lose my licence anyway!
    I used to feel a little intimidated on the R6 but this doesn't happen on the GSR600.
    A couple of my male rider friends - Dangerous included - have ridden the demonstrator that I had for a couple of weekends and I don't think they would buy one but they all noted how comfortable I looked on it and how easy to ride it was and they have pulled wheelies on it as well.
    I am very happy with my purchase and would recomend it to anyone to at least try!

    Well done, it's a good feeling getting a brand spanking new bike - got any pics, something a bit bigger than the avatar one perhaps

    congrads on the bike Suzi, and yes i have noticed an improvment in your confidance with riding the GSR.
    To be honest the R6 was a awesome bike but never realy did suit you as well as the GSR already does.

    Having riden the GSR it is a small and nimble bike and as you would expect the ergonamics makes for easy riding. I'd prefer a bit more tit from one, but then again if thats what ya want in a bike you would buy a GSXR.

    Glad to hear your happy with the bike ML.

    I also reckon its not a ladies bike but a bike for anyone who wants a bike with the latest technology, easy to rude, practical real world usage and doesn't need to be going 200km/h to be fun.

    I agree, but I wanted the ladies out there to know there is a new bike that would be a great next bike for them. I also thought the Guzzie breva 750 would be a good ladies bike because of the low seat height but it had no guts. This bike has guts!!!

    great stuff SuziQ! Was very nice to see it in the flesh, the blue was a bit darker than I expected, but I like it!
    Still have trouble with where the indicators are though...seems an odd place so near the tank, but nice and neat spot all the same.... not as much chance of breaking them eh?

    They are a nice looking naked bike. Torque is lower in the rev range than the GSXR for easier everyday riding. Have fun.

    I thought briefly about waiting to try one before buying the Hornet, but glad I didn't after sitting on one, would've had the same problems as the hornet with having to get it lowered, due to being a short arse. I still wouldn't mind taking one for a spin anyway.

    Did you check out the Yamaha FZ6? I never really got the styling of the GSR, but loved the FZ6 style... apart from that, I completely agree with you on the Naked sports concept; no fairing far reduces the likelyhood of license loss, plust the bike is great for around town, with a better power distribution and riding position. I like the scream of a revving 4 as well...

    I'm seriously looking at getting one of these bikes.

    They are apparently the pre-cursors to the B-King although minus the cool HUD system etc.

    I'm a short guy so I find it difficult to find bikes that are comfortable with the foot down but I had no issues with this bike.

    Personally I think day to day riding a 600 - 750 is all that's really needed in New Zealand as many of the roads (at least all the good riding roads) are tight and twisiting thus removing the advantage of the bigger bikes.

    Thanks for the review Suzy Q it's moved my leanings toward this bike over the Kawasaki ER-6N. I prefer 4 cylinders to twins because the power is always there when you want it. I found twins to be a bit laggy and then they hit you with everything which I find makes uncomfortable riding.

    Now all I need to do is come up with the money, at least the deposit.
