Advice for Purchasing a New Bike

    Hi everyone

Does anyone know if the 2008 Suzuki GSR 600 K6 motorcycle is LAMS approved? On the LAMS approved list the Suzuki GSR600U is listed as an approved bike. On the internet I tried to find any differences between these two bikes and I can't seem to find anything different except that the K6 term refers to a change in colour scheme of the fairings, but the engine specifications remain the same. I have also contact two dealerships which are selling this bike and they have confirmed it is LAMS approved.

    Thank you

If your dealers says it is LAMS then thats probably more accurate than the advice you will receive here

There was talk of the learner spec GSXR600u for Australia, but I can't see if anything ever came of it. I can't find any technical info, can you provide the links to the bikes for sale that you've seen are claiming to be LAMS?

The GSR600 K6 produces 90hp so it's not LAMS approved. When LAMS was introduced, Suzuki produced a regional variant that was underpowered. Only models registered as GSR600U (and unmodified) would be considered LAMS approved.
