High idle is easy to adjust; there's just a big knob on your carb/s that you turn until it's set at the right pitch. That said, if the tacho is showing 1K, then that would be about right.

Lol... you know, when something goes wrong, you begin to pay such major attention to even the smallest noises. Somebody I know once said, `never listen to your bike running without your helmet -- you will just scare yourself'.

Yeah it's knocking about pretty fast in neutral but seems to calm down when in 1st and up, the knead-it has seem to set really well.. just went down to get some petrol and had no problems with it, hopefully it'll be all good!

Thanks a lot everyone for your great help!

Do you notice a sort of banging sound at idle? that disapears when the revs are above idle?

If that is your sound, dont worry. Mine does the same (we have same motor) and its apparently some bearing that has moved ever so slightly and is clunked into place when revs go up over idle. common as with gpx and zzr apparently...

Yeah that bottom end knock is just a noise the GPX's make, I thought bad when I first heard it on mine but they all do it.
