    WIMA Linen Run

It appears that this years Auckland Linen Run has been cancelled due to lack of response by the Womens Refuge. I reckon its a damn shame myself!

Its the one opportunity for WIMA (yes you guys - us girls what ride bikes) get to organise and do something good for a charity. SO any ideas from the KB forum I could take to next Auckland WIMA meeting for a way to raise the profile of bikers and give summit back to the community feel free to offer suggestions.

Ummm...womens prostitution is not going to be taken seriously

Perhaps a little publicity would help. I went last year but have not heard this year.

no point in publicity when the organisation you are trying to support isnt interested. My understanding is that WIMA nationwide is struggling to get the Womens Refuge motivated.

I thought I would post to get ideas cos it seems there were a few KBers at the last run and it was mentioned at the Starship ride. OK it is slow and short but theres nothing like stopping traffic in the big smoke and always the opportunity for a ride afterwards.

Kids charity would be a grand idea. Ronny run is done by Talamarkos

    Um?

Homless Jelly Wrestlers? Clothing drive for street walkers (although they probably won't thank you)

No, seriously.... I organise our company charity work (how did I get that job?) and we have done a lot of stuff but one place I NEVER have trouble getting a response to is the Hospices....

Sadly, you have to experience the pain to realise the thankless job they do at no charge. It is a life changing experience. We do still 9as a company) do subsidised work for a local Hospice and I wish i could do more.. Fine people and a really worthy cause...

    Cheers
