Here's hoping the presidential elections follow suite.
I think you'll find that she would be closer to GWB in political temperament than you might imagine, and her vacillation over the Iraq War II question (do I support it? Yess, err No, errr maybe) has cost her a lot of support. I wish Al Gore would run, but he'll probably have to wait until the next one now.
Obama as president? Texas would secede.

So we have had a guy who has been so dumb that we can see his mistakes. What happens when a smart cunning politician gets into power. The evil becomes far less visible. I don't think we will be any safer. Just more unaware.
I prefer sneaky, clever, and competent to plain dumb.

Not for long. Election of those uber-liberal buffoons to the government pretty much guarantees the next government will be 100% Republican. Kommies are not kool.bye bye GOP
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
You'll see a lot of political posturing by the Democrats, but not much else. Bush is walking a tight rope with his party winning the next Presidential election in his mind. If there is one thing about American politics is that when it comes down to the war in Iraq both sides are in for the long haul.
Hilary Clinton? She wont allow her nomination to go forward as a Presidential or Vice Presidential canidate for much of the reasons that Hitcher states. She's still a newbie. But make no mistake when this woman decides to make her mark all of America will sit up and take notice.
She is the closest thing to JFK. She's at her best when electioneering.

The Democrats have been as much a bunch of useless lame duck losers as the Repubs have been. 6 years of Bush and they havent got a viable opposition? Don't see it changing that much, either. And as for presidential candidates......if you havent got a $100 mill sitting around, forget even standing, so that narrows the field down a bit....
Rumsfeld is a diversionary sacrificial lamb to the masses, while Cheney and co consider their next options.
What the US needs is another totally new party with ideals and a will to get things done.....but.......
