    17Nov ChCh-Lewis-Arthurs-ChCh

On Friday 17th (our Show Day Holiday) there is a day ride departing 9am from the Peg Pub carpark on the Main North Rd just before Dickys Rd and the Northern Motorway in Belfast.
We are riding the big block over the Lewis Pass, then back via the Arthurs Pass.
    Everyone and anyone is welcome.
J and I will be there so long as the weather for at least part of the ride (not counting the Christchurch area) looks to be ok.

BTW..Any one know the proper name for that Pub?

Gidday, What sort of time do ya expect to do it in, more the fact of what time you would expect to back near say the turn off to Rangiora? I would like to make the run, but also have a commitment that night.

    Cheers

It's usually an 8 to 9 hour run including stops and regrouping with the more sedate riders etc.
The guy that started the idea does like to play. I tend to stick to non ticket speeds so regroup with him every now and then and i usually do it in 8 hours if the stops aren't excessive.

Well, that might have been up for negotiation, but I've just been told it's something to do with it being a mile marker (like the 9 mile marker peg to do with surveys and distance from the Chch Square) of some possible historical significance.

That sounds cool, I would like to think I will be able to make it on the run, I will leave my final decision to later in the week and the weather.
My guess is you go via Lewis, Reefton, Greymouth, Moanna, Arthers to Chch? Around 600km.

Fingers crossed it works for me.
