Best view of Noosa is possibly seeing it on your mirrors as you leave! Why? Someone mentioned middle-aged balding men. I'd add a few things to that but it's a family forum we're told.
Seriously, actually I was serious about not liking Noosa - can't stand it, however, if I went back again I'd do only a few things:
1. Drink overpriced coffee on Hastings St and perve on the bikini clad women that are apt to pass by,
2. walk up the track into the National Park and enjoy the nudist beach - bikini-less women up there as well as speedo/tog/swimmers/bathers-less men (if that's your thing). Have heard 'stories' (no doubt very true) that this beach is a good pick-up spot if you like a bit of arse action...
3. long pause, it's taking me a while to think of a 3rd thing...sorry, can't.
You'll find somewhere to hire a bike I'm sure. Do this and then ride out of town and head toward Maleny/Montville area. Plenty of signs. Can't get lost. The roads up in this area and beyond, out to Samford, Mt Glorious, Mt Mee, Kilcoy, Woodford form a good day ride bringing you back into Maleny and down the range. Some of Brisbane's best scratching roads. Those place names aren't in order sorry. (Look for the big signs proclaiming "motorcylists die on these roads - reduce speed" Also watch out for the "slow down bumps" - raised lines of bitumen strategically placed so that you'll get de-stabilised at higher speeds.
Check out somewhere like the Qld Govt website and their tourism dept - they'll have an ok website, most likely with maps. Sorry for stating the obvious, you've probably already got maps.
If you can only get over to Fraser Island for 1 day do it. Drive/ride up to Hervey Bay (if riding take the turnoff at Gympie (pronounced Gimpee) and head into Hervey Bay via Tin Can Bay. Plent of signs and sweepers to die for. Highway patrol know about these roads too.
Once into Hervey Bay head to the marina and get onto the Kingfisher Bay resort/village fast-cat and go over to the island for a day or two. Do a tour with the resort people. Well worth it. More good roads to see on the way back down the coast if you stray inland a bit after you leave Maryborough.
Have fun, ride/drive safe. 3 minute showers remember....![]()
