I remember a few years ago a RC 45 was stolen from a bike shop in Hamilton,I remember talking to a guy by the name of Wayne Parry who owned Waynes Motorcycle World in Hamilton telling me how the the thiefs nicked it then ages later it was found by the cops doing a check on it when they pulled the guy up on it,it had no bottom fairings on it and it had been given a rough black paint job,it appeared in the bike trader for sale for approx $14000,any one know where that RC45 is?

What this one? (follow the link below ) That story you've been told ain't quite true it was taken during a test ride as it's a single seater the bloke simply out ran the saleman on the other bike, it then was recovered a couple of years later. The loss had been covered by insurance and when recovered put up for tender by the insurance company, the current owner won the tender and brought it to his shop in Ashburton (where it still is).

Whoever the prick was that took originally had cut a hole in the frame just down the headstem on the R/H side (roughly a 50mm hole) for a jerry-built type of ram-air feed to the airbox . The bodywork was roughed up in a few places but not repainted black. It has a new frame & full set of panels as spares. It does get used on a regular basis for rallys & the odd quick fang etc and has another RC45 to keep it company. It's been dyno'd at close to 120hp at the wheel & the other 112hp.

I stopped by once to puchase some chain lube (For my RVF ) I knew they were there, but it had slipped my mind. So I walk up to the counter to get the chain lube, and for some reason I looked left, and there they were!!

So cool. Smaller than you expect too.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Brendan who owns Ashburton Honda has it.

    www.hondacountry.co.nz

He in fact has two RVF's.

OK its a fine bike, but $30k AUD?? having said that, it might be the tidiest one left in the world, but its still not an NR500!

    faaaark.

Time to buy an RC51 or something as a spec investment.
