I don't have it yet....still have the surgery thing to get through - however a few phone calls and the parting of a small amount of money have made in roads in to having one in my gargre in November!

As for the ride - goooo

Ive been thinking if I were to trade in the SP1, a CBR600RR would be my next choice. Something a bit more nimble for the twisties - I do love the sound of the twin though.

    Maybe an F6.....

Mate, you obviously missed the green VY commodore mufty car after the Silverstream lights. That's why I slowed down. I passed him on the left hand side at about 120kmh. You came sailing by and I thought you were toast. Must have been a CIB car and those dudes coulden't give a fuck about speeding as they do real cop shit.

Two close calls in one day.....pity I wasn't as lucky in lotto this week.

Good ride though, and great to see so many bikers at the top of the hill.

Caught up with you guys this time! (well, not "caught up" as in came up behind you on the road, but met up with you at the top of the hill).

Jimbo: I'll PM you Jo's details.

It was nice and warm on the summit till around 3pm when we left, it started to cool down.

Nice to say "hi" Velox (even though at the time I didn't realise it was you!)

We had a couple of "close encounters" with Mr Law on Sunday. Mrs H goes blithely steaming at one heading towards us on the road to Martinborough at about 130kmh -- no reaction. Later in the day I passed a stream of cars between the Tin Hut and Featherston, sliding back into the lefthand lane at about 150kmh I noted that the vehicle immediately in front had "Police" written on its arse. Again no reaction. Phew!

    Nice one Mr Plod(s).

A couple of years ago me and four friends headed up to Paeroa for the battle of the streets. We were all on big bikes, staggered formation cruising between 130km/h and 145km/h pretty much all the way there and back - several cops came by going the other way, and none even bothered to look at us.

Not sure if we looked safe enough on our merry way or what, but it was great not to get any tickets.

Good to see your new bike in the flesh Lynda! Sorry - I should have said hi properly but there were so many people up there eh?!

Funny about the cops - we went down the west side of the lake, up to Martinborough, through the back way to Carterton and down SH2 and didn't see any cops at all! Let's just hope that's because they weren't there rather than I just didn't see them. Not that there would be many cops down the side of the lake. If anyone hasn't been there - it's a nice bit of road (the west side).

And I forgot to say we met up with Mr and Mrs Hitcher in Martinborough too.

Yep, it was good to see heaps of bikes out both days - good for the soul to see motorcycling alive and well!!

We often go down the western side of the lake, but Sunday we thought it would still be a bit damp under the trees (we left Caltex Rimutaka at 9.30am with quite a bit of damp road on the Takas). It's a nice bit of road indeed.

I’m taking the girl over Wire-wrapper for walkies but we are leaving a bunch earlier so may see youse lot on the way back.

PS have you all heard about the story of mufti’s baiting bikes by cruising at 140 over that side of the hill. People assume they obviously aren’t police travelling at that speed, & then when you pass instant LO licence. Not sure if this is an urban (rural?) myth but the story went that several people had been done this way.
Don't you look at my accountant.

Sounds like a good case for entrapment to me...unless they have a good reason for exceeding the speed limit - the road laws apply to cops as well.
