Oh darnn I wish I'd kept up with this thread I could have come on this ride! I've been whinging all day that I haven't been able to go for a ride for ages....and I'm working lates, so can't take the bike to work without breaking licence conditions. Does anyone else with a GN find the headlight doesnt light up much of the road? Or is it a motorbike thing all over?

I assume by TEC you mean a more experienced 250 rider at the back of the pack?

Well, providing nothing bad happens when I take my bike to get the rattle out of it next week I'm dead keen on joining fellow KB'ers, hope there's another one coming up soon!

Thumbs up And the rain came tumbling down...

Righto chaps! Debriefing a bit late, have to run out and do some clubbing soon! Great turn out for a shite day and a great attitude shown by one and all - I was Tail Gunner and I liked how riders took it easy and didn't do any silly stuff (apart from me at the end doing so ) At times I wondered if Donor was going to live up to his namesake and I was going when I saw him trying to emulate McJim at times! (All credit to both, they stayed rubber side down and didn't try to slide it motard across the slippery shite!)

Was a short blat, I was hoping squadron leader would be heading out to Tuakau and then onto Raglan via the backblock twisties Turns out he was a sensible bugger and took in account of the riding conditions and group composition ( A sensible newbie on a bike that could smoke the rest of the group, a scottish madman who is channelling Billy Conollylyylly, a daft rogue squadron leader, some idjits on Hondas and a mad chinaman wokking up the rear!)

Rain was a treat, I was grinning from ear to ear as my boots filled up and smelling two stroker exhaust fumes

Rode back to Eden Cycles for the Bikini wash and met JC+Eleanor and lukein250 (Mav was arranging for his next hot jappo ride) and then to Motomail outlet before beetling off home via the long way to practice lane splitting in the rain (alongside a kwaka)

What a day, what a ride (bikini babes weren't too bad, but there needed to be an asian hottie ) Spotcha all on the next one when there's flooding, loose stock, thunderbolts and lightning and maybe some bikers!

Yeah GN lights are not the greatest..........but it really would be hard to "out run" them

As for riding a GN, as Warlock is pointing out its days are numbered. I have come to the realisation of having an impacted tooth removed and looking sorry for myself works wonders on my new bike fund

Having been TEC on the last one of these 250 runs and seeing a fellow biker almost lose it ... i would hate to think that any of us are pushing to hard and having bin's, yes we are out to improve our skills but we all need to know when to stop pushing.. i hope i never have to pick a fellow biker up off the road... that would suck.
I witnessed a high-side while being tail end charlie a few weeks ago. not nice - really felt for the guy but we got him home in one piece.
