Go down to the local council where the van was parked, they will have a grafiti official who will have tags on record and who they belong to.

I thought that was a P/T at first, but makes perfect sense, eh? Taggers tend to write the same old handle every time - unwittingly dropping themselves in the sht.

Thats the "TAG OUT" team that go around and cover up all the tagger's work...
They are paid by your local city council to do this.

They will have been phoned or they spotted it as they drove past your place.
If you live on a main road then they are always on the look out.... or they may have been covering up another mess in your area on that day when it was spotted.

The city council are always accepting unwanted paint from residents to help cover up this flaming mess.

If it is known who they are (a large number are) then obtain the details of the tagger and a blunt rusty knife.

Next locate and take said taggers scrotum and sever. That would be a good deterrant i think to other would be taggers.

Why does Texmo have to go out and solve this crime against him, that's your job aint it? Helping the community and all.
Then again sorting out some shit face no good taggers won't be a very good work story would it?

That explains it! I did this cool mural on my garage door with an airbrush - thought it was so cool - came home the following day and someone had painted over it without my say so!
