    Nightspeed Drag Wars

I was thinking about running the bike down meremere at some stage.
does anyone else here race, interested in heading down also etc?

although looking at the times being run, i think it might be a waste of time!

Yeah I tried organising this last year - bit of a waste of time.....(my rant)

    1. Got down there opening night '05 about 2 hours before scruutineering was due to close and we got the "sorry were are full now, you cant race" ...... even tho they were running 60+ boi racers and only 5 or 6 bikes.

    2. If and when you do get on the track, the wait in between the grades can take nearly an hour til your time comes up again........

    3. They dont give a flying f#$k about the bikes, they are interested in the boi racers cause they bring in the most $$$$

But you never know, some race meets can be a bit quieter during the holidays.... I might go down one night for a looksie but Im not wasting my time goin down every meet.

I would be in for it. What gear does one need to run over here.

Most people usually start in first and then hook second as they near the redline.

Don't think they are too fussed about gear, bearing cage orientated they have no clue about bikes

My mate ran his bike down the strip and the nite drags here in christchurch and he was running just sneakers, jeans and a leather jacket and gloves helmet etc, although I'd definatly be wearing full leathers and back protector, but thats just what I wear when racing.

IT's fun just to have a go, but I wouldn't want to do it heaps, straight lines are boring.
