    Soichiro Honda's 100th Birthday

If he was still alive (he died in 1991), it would be Mr Honda's 100th birthday on Friday. The father of all kinds of manufacturing techniques and such quotes as `Racing improves the breed', there are so many things we owe to him in our bikes (yes, even the Suzukis) and cars. I've been familiar with stories of him from Honda's expedition into Formula 1 in the mid-60s and found him quite an interesting character, but I was interested to read in a few articles about his love of motorcycles and fierce pursuit of success in the Isle of Man TT.

"By the age of 15, Soichiro hadn’t any formal education, but he had a thirst for knowledge and a passion for engineering."

    There's hope for me yet!

ive worked with 3 people that have worked for Him and one who was with him when Honda was broke ,,, He was an Arse to work for ,,would come in and rant and rave ....about things not being right ...

BUT he KNEW YOURjob inside out and spoke with intelligence

ALL the people ive spoken to respected him DEEPLY ,,, Sadly the factory here has / is going downhill IMHO ...( I think its Honda America thats leading the way ... Oh and they are having talks as of last week to merge the power equip dept with the MC dept ... So ,,, not only will briggs and scrap iron be supplying Harley , but also Honda as wel!!!!
