HELP !! what's wrong with my headlight ?

Hi folks I have a question about the head light on my GN I changed it so I could use a normal P45t quartz halogen bulbs 60/55 and it worked but on dipped the bulb was really dim so I changed the wires round and then it was bright on dipped and dim on full beam ?

So my next thing was to try a 40/45 watt bulb and I get the same thing depending on which way round I wire it one or the other is really dim just glows the bulbs are fine if I connect the to the battery they are ok I don’t know any thing about regulators or even where it is on the bike
is there any one that knows what’s wrong or where I can go in Christchurch to get it sorted

Thanks anways I sorted it broken wire and a fresh earth lead fix it
