250 ride, Sunday the 3rd/12/06

Not sure if I can make the ride now

carb problems thread here, I've done what I can with what little knowledge I have but I'm not sure if it'll survive a long ride. Which crushes me, I was really looking forward to my first group ride

Gonna have to see tomorrow if what I did worked and take it out clevedon ways to see how the poor thing goes.

Hey Mav... Might send you a text on Sunday morning weather pending about this ride... fully booked tomorrow but may be free on Sunday... What time is the ride starting and where is it heading (by PM I know)

Edit... Or even better... I may get Sam to go on the ride instead... that way a few of you get to meet her... and she gets some more experience riding the ZXR before we do our fulls... but be warned Sam rides at nana's pace (which is good... she knows her limits) but she's only ever riden twisties twice and neither of them on the ZXR... so yeah... I think she should do ok...

Where is the start? *knows nothing*

She's been saying she wants to go on one of the rides for a while now... so thought who better to ride with than you... afterall I've seen you ride and know that she'll be in good hands

I'll confirm with Sam when she gets to my work...

Sunday's forcast so far is "Some Cloud" so should be great...

Did you get the ride details? There is a shore meetup about an hour before the main meet, to group ride down to the main meetup. PM if you want details.

As a general point, Mav and McJim have both been quite upfront about the purpose of these rides. They are for newbies and the less confident to improve their skills in a reasonably supportive group environment. People like Sam and Chickadee who are very new to biking.

As a consequence, the overall pace is quite slow. They are not balls-to-the-wall throttle pinning fangs. The intention is for (most of) the group to ride at the pace of the slowest rider. If you ride hard out, you'll probably end up riding by yourself a long way out front a lot of the time.

This isn't a pointed comment aimed at anyone in particular. Just so that everyone knows what Sunday's ride is intended to be all about.

I think i will be taking the cake on this one, I'm bringing along a Real Learner ...... in fact she's only ever riden as far as the local shops, which are less than 500m from her driveway
