I was driving back from a Bradford City game a few years back on the A65 and there was a cop in a Escort Cosworth, complete with whale tail, pulled up a WRX.

I remember Strathclyde Police got 4 plain white Sierra RS Cosworths - 1st generation when they were fist manufactured (the boys at Cosworth had modified bodywork, engine, suspension but not the Gearbox!) They floored it on these beasts - got up into top gear and the gearbox seized...had to send them all back to insert gearboxes that could actually handle the power output of the engine.
