    Unsmooth gixxer after puncture

Got myself a puncture in the rear Pilot Power a few days ago, leaving the tyre as flat as the stomach I wish I had. Managed to get it to the nearest dealer who promtly fixed it, but since then the bike is running unsmooth (like the chain is going). I've checked/adjusted the tyre pressure and the chain is not too tight or loose. Could the wheel not have been put back right, be mis-aligned or need rebalancing? The bikes only just done 12k so surely the chain would be good, even with my less than frequent lubing

Any ideas b4 I get some one to check it over and rip me off for new chain and sprockets

Sounds like the wheel was not balanced after the repair. Or maybe the shop over-tightened the chain? Try slackening it off a bit - if no different, get the wheel balanced.

I hope this doesn't sound patronising, but are you checking the chain adjustment with somebody sat on the bike? If not, allowing some extra slack so the adjustments right when you're on the bike?

For years I would adjust mine on the tight side of the manufacturers recommendations without the bike being weighted, only to realise later in life that the chain is further stretched when the bike is weighted, so was too tight - DOH!

Did you ride much on the flat? Any damage to the rim?

Also, with regards to the wheel alignment, don't rely on the not-very-accurate markings on the swingarm and adjuster blocks

wouldn't think ya chain/sprockets are crap after 12k mine lastest just under 30,000kms and i am a bit slack with lubing/cleaning it. (sprockets were okay just chain started streching like a mofo)

If the tyre was repaired correctly with a mushroom patch it will need rebalancing - sometimes they need a rebalnce, sometimes not...depends how close the original balance was. Some tyre shops only have a static balancer,it may need to go on a dynamic balancer to get it right.
