they're fuckin miles apart.
tokoroa is on the way to taupo (bout halfway between hamilton and taupo) and whangapoua is at the top of the coromandel , over the hill from coro town.

Quickest answer was here![]()
I see you're from Auckland - that might explain everything![]()
Do you actually travel south over the Bombays without needing string to find your way back?
Pisstaking aside, Tokoroa is right on SH1 and you must have passed through it at least once, surely. Admittedly not big, but still has a pop. of 14000.

TOKOROA
LOL... yeah I have been thru many a time... Just not so good with locations... Know the names... and know I drive thru them etc... I had no idea where Whangapoua was though... No wonder they couldnt find the meter then![]()
Managed to get to wellington and back a few times without string...
(we used bread crumbs instead).
Maybe ill take some string with me on Friday when I go down tho... might come in handy.![]()
Hahaha. Actually, I quite often ride the bike over to Whangapoua for an ice cream when I'm up at Coromandel - gorgeous spot. Not many people seem to know about New Chums beach which is at the western end of Whangapoua. Apparently voted best beach in NZ by travel writers. Not that I'd know as I can't ride right up to it - you have to walk for half an hour, haha.
I think I need to work on my geography lol
