    Vigilante Justice

Pine Valley Rd, the link between Silverdale and Kahikatea Flat Rd has broken up badly due, as usual, to it being sealed on the cheap. So, instead of repairing it, Transit NZ (motto; you can't have sub-standard roads when you have no standards) erected 70km/h temp signs for the whole length of it.
The next day our brave Police management stretched the thin blue line thinner and hammered it, nailed lots of locals for speeding.
One of them took exception to this and chainsawed every sign along the road.

    Well done.

On a similar vein, one year (about 1991), me and a few mates planned to go to the cold kiwi rally.

The night before, a mate and myself took down the two 100km/h signs as you head north from Waikanae, stripped off the 1 and painted on a 2.

Must have bloody funny for all the bikers heading through to see a 200km/h speed limit. It made the local paper and the local plod was quoted as saying it was the best piece of sign vandalism he had ever seen.

Does anyone remember riding through Waikanae and seeing them ?

Oh yeah, whats the statute of limitations for vandalism ??

Its a shame there aren't more important things in the world for Lou, bikerboy and co to crusade against.

I know you probably think that only being allowed to exceed the speed limit by 10 kilometres per hour is a gross infringement on your human rights, but really what do you want Police to do?

Do you want a speed limit thats not enforced?
    No speed limit?
    A raised speed limit?
Police to instantly be able to divine in the 2 seconds they see a speeding driver to if his skill level is sufficient to drive more than 10kmh over the limit?
None of the above so you still have an 'injustice' to rail against?

Spend more time on the IDIOTS that do well under 100ks on the open road and refuse to let vehicles past.......My mate got a ticket for 130 after passing one of these drivers on a short passing lane.......when he told the cop why he was speeding the cop was not interested and would not catch up to and speak with the driver of the slow car........talking 75ks on the open road and sticking right in the middle.

No, I want them to do exactly as they're doing.
    Couldn't you tell?
Everyone needs a crusade. I have mine. George Dubya has his.
    What's yours?
What really pushes your buttons? Do tell.

I want the 2 second rule enforced for a start. The number of times I see tailgating in full view of the cops and they do nothing fecks me off.

'Course human nature being what it is, if the signs WEREN'T put out and somebody crashed their cry would be "why did they leave it at 100, they should have lowered the speed on a rough bit of road like this"
