    Upper Hutt yesterday evening

Does anyone know what happened in Upper Hutt yesterday at about 5.45pm?

I was going home along Fergusson Drive (not my normal route but I fancied a change) and just after Whakatiki Street the road was closed due to an accident. Looked like quite a big one cos there were a couple of ambulances in attendance and the Police had blocked the road off.

No idea if it was bikes, pedestrians, cars or what.

As far as I know, there was an accident involving a taxi and another car, which caused the taxi to swerve left, mount the pavement and hit Julie's Takeaways sideon. We were taking Tim down to BMX practice and arrived just as the fire department were cleaning up the mess.

About 200 metres from where I live too. That's our local Chinese & Fish & Chips store.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Not Julie's Takeaways?!?!!!?

As an aside, why is almost every single fish and chip store in the Hutt Valley run by asians? Our one used to be a Greek dude, but then he died :S. Now asian, of course. The chips have improved!

The one on the corner of Miro Street and Ward street is still Greeks.

How's your wrist James? Back playing guitar yet?

And why is it that while you've been down your little brother has somehow acquired 2 RG150s?

    On Countdown wages?

Oh I'm back with a vengeance! Still missing a bit of strength and sheer picking ferocity, but it's coming.

Are you getting Daniel confused with Nick? They'll probably beat you up. Daniel is stealing my RG in exchange for some coloured beads and muskets.

Jeez mate. Those two change their user names so much I can't keep up.

So Daniel's Coyote now is he? My bad. That must make Nick Soul Bruddah.

I must pay more attention to the teenage world I guess.

'Tis a fickle realm, to be sure. Best to inquire on a regular basis.

Change "Hutt Valley" to "New Zealand" and its more accurate I think. Its getting damn hard to find good F&C's.. and still surprisingly hard to find good chinese.. Bastards!

Riffer, Is the one on the corner of Ward and Miro still run by the same old greek couple? I used to live in Maclean St about 6 years ago and we pretty much live off their $5 packs. Nice old folks, and damn tasty F&C's.

Hes preolly dead or retired now but their used to be a F&C shop in Hopper st (Near Wellington High/Polytech) run by some 900 year old greek man.. best F&C's I've ever had.

The Fish and Chip shop in Totara Park is superb - as it the Thai restaurant!

    I miss a good Indian!

Food in Wellington in general has been pretty disappointing I must admit. It's no bad thing tho, we now eat out a lot less than we used to as a result!

Sure is mate. They've been around forever. MacLean St. Small world. I'm in Melrose.

Yum Yum in Silverstream. Yum Yum

The F&C used to be a butchers when I was young. Used to live in the flat above it. Rats everywhere!

Miro St drag strip we used to call it. I could 60-80 metre hand brakies in the Anglia (only one wheel) and line up the drive way.

We also had donuts in the park, till the snakes came and took one of us away.
Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.
