Yeah, I'm gonna spend a bit more on a decent jap car, put some accessories in it, and THIS time try not to drive like a tosser.

Stonechucker; just ring the council, they will come and collect it and take it away for free - its a new service to prevent people dumping cars illegally in the lower Hutt/wellington area.

Well my ol' Mitzi Mirage is classed as a NZ made car and NOT a jap import.....
Ok it is made in 1988 but back then thats how cars were classed.

Now the newer cars are classed as jap imports....

Yeah, I'd like to, but even if I wanted to, I don't think that would happen anytime soon.

I'll post what I got up tomorrow, for those that are interested.
    Pretty cool, for a "run-a-bout"

Ahh the "Poor Old Nigger, Thinks Its A Cadillac".. horrible things.. mate of mine brought one once, had it a few months, then got his mate to do a dodgy as all hell repair job on it and sold it as fast as he possibly could.

Had all sorts wrong with it, the entire power steering assembly was held onto the chassis with like 2 screws, the exhaust was mega-dodgy wlded to the manifold, was a death trap.

    The New Run-A-Bout

After looking for a replacement for my old Pontiac, to use as a run-a-bout to save wear and tear on my main car, the winner, purchased from Wholesale Cars Direct Lower Hutt, is a:

    1997 Honda Prelude Si
    Silver, Fwd
    2200cc
32000kms on the clock! (AA verified odometer & condition of the car matches)
    4 Spd Auto & Tiptronic
    Climate Air-Con
    ABS
    Dual Airbags
    Leather / Suede Interior
    Electric Windows & Mirrors
Central Locking / Keyless Entry with Dual Stage alarm & immobiliser with shock sensors

36 month mechanical warranty (no claim excess, unlimited claims) on everything except consumables (tyres, brake pads, etc...).

The interior and exterior are spotless, it's almost too hard to believe. Obviously someone bought this car, and went overseas at some stage and phoned home after a while to tell family to sell the car. 32000 kms is peanuts.

I was planning on buying a smart version of the Pontiac, but when I saw ths car, the details and the price, and after a test drive and looking around other car yards, I had no choice but to take it. The car's price was only a couple of grand more than what I had in mind (what I had in mind was quite a few grand more than the Pontiac though). Obviously the mechanical warranty and alarm were extra on that, but since it was more valuable it was the only option.

Great car to drive too, it gives you a small/relative idea of what an expensive supercar would feel like / sound to drive. It is fairly low, has a rather stiff chassis, a phenomenal exhaust sound, especially over 4000rpm, and is a lot quicker than I thought. It's a tough call which car to drive All I gotta do now is put in a decent sound system (I think I'm going Kenwood), and I'm sorted...

Now, I just gotta get a run-a-bout for my run-a-bout

(Next entry from me on pg3 follows on from this...)
