What do you do with a dead car? (Anyone want it?)

Ok, so I'm driving along and it feels like the gears are just wizzing around, with only a fraction taking and giving me any drive (max speed 20 or 30km/h). Then the smoke from the engine and/or under the front of car starts to make it hard to breathe, so I find a quiet parking area and stop to see what's wrong. I have a small feeling the oil pouring out from the engine all over the parking lot has something to do with it.

With this cars track history (purchased for $950, major service up to safe standard of $1300, small service on radiator $200, $700 stereo added), I've decided to pull out the stereo gear myself, and find a suitable tip to execute the bitch at.

Then I'll look for another car, and start again, this time with a nice Jap girl, who'll love me long time... The only catch is I've had to park the old car in a conspicuous part of an area I wouldn't dump my rubbish in. I'll be lucky if the stereo is still in the car by tomorrow morning (I've taken the face plate, and covered the rear speakers to make it look empty).

Any ideas of places that take cars that need heart/lung machines (Probably just a transmission overhaul or something similar). Or maybe buy as scrap metal? And lastly, would I get into shit if I set the car alight at the tip?
I don't know if I want to tow it all the way to the tip leaking oil

Couple of nights doing things like flush radiator, replace resistor in fan circuit and now even the Air con works !! All good at 147K. I guess the difference is my car still looks a bit older than yours but ..... it is still going

It was actually an Opel Kadett renamed and imported for the NZ market. Not very successful, I might add.

They were the first Korean car imported into NZ badged as a Pontiac to fool the NZ public into thinking they were of a superior quality. Strange you dont see many on the road now, wonder why?

It was GM's "world car" and was sold in Korea as the Daewoo LeMans and in the US and NZ as the Pontiac LeMans. Possibly imported from Korea but not too sure.

Have you just lost the sump plug which has caused the oil to pour out....
Maybe get another sump plug and pour IN some oil and see what happens.....
it may spring back to life again.

When did you last do a oil change in it... was the sump plug done up tight?
Maybe it wasnt tightened up tight and it has shook/vibrated itself loose......

Funny you should mention that. I was thinking of recreating the infamous KB'er stationwagon jumping video that was shown at one KB rally, back when the thought of bikes lit my eyes up...

Maybe put my old bike helmet on, and drive it off the Takas? That should be survivable?
