    Rev counter problem

    Hi my 1998 suzuki gsxr 1100 rev counter has stopped working i have checked connections etc.does anyone know where this unit gets it signal pulses from so i can check this or if i can put a multi meter on rev counter end connector and check voltage or ohms here.

    There should be a wire going from the CDI to the rev counter. I don't really know how you can test it using a multimeter. A scope or a frequency counter would work fine - It should be a signal oscillating between 0V and 12V.

    Maybe testing the rev counter might be the easier option. You'd need a oscillator that puts out a 0-12V signal and depending on the frequency this should make the rev gauge move.
