Key & English have indicated that they intend to do a complete u-turn and head for the center-right which peeves me right off (pun intended).

If they want to pursuade me to keep my vote with National next election they haev some serious work to do in pursuading me that they are not going all soft, especially on issues like race relations, social welfare, immigration etc.

Unfortunately Lias, the calculation the blue parties make (in the US, UK, OZ...) is that the far right and centre of the right (as opposed to right of the centre) will still vote for them (who else is there? we don't have a BNP equivalent) but the big numbers of votes are that floating middle ground and if you don't win that, you don't win.

I reckon it'll be a change of style rather than substance...
