That sucks... I'd recommend renting for now... if your going to buy you'll want to spend a few weeks looking around for the "right" place...

then once you've found it it'll take a few more weeks for the finance and so forth...
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing

Don't even entertain the idea of buying just before christmas. Did that
3 years ago. The settlement happened on christmas eve before everything closed down and interest would start accumulating.

It was bad enough we had to pay interest for 2 days....cos of people being too tired and in holiday mode to get stuff done

They want to put the place on the market and are moving back in to sort a few things out as they have already given notice on the place they are in.

We were just settling into this place, Mac has just started at the local primary school, we've got the fuckin mutt and it's rural enough to be a really nice place whilst still easy for me to ride or train into work.

We're both pretty pissed off right now. I need a beer.

Had a similar situation when I was 17 and living with my mum, the flat owner got made redundant from Airnz, his wife got pregnant again and they couldnt afford the house they just built, so sold it and then decided to tell us we had to move out, was at the same time as my gran died, so was pretty stressfull, the upshot ended up with my mum buying a new townhouse which leaks, so the moral of the story is dont rush into buying, especially new townhouses.

I feel for ya mate, the same thing happened to us last year, a real hassle what with the missus pregnant at the time and trying to find somewhere that would let us keep the dog.

Good luck anyway, I'm sure you'll find something suitable

the arse is falling out of the rental market right now, you'll get alot of bang for your buck - a mate of mine just got a 3 bed house with a small pool in parnell for $400/week!

I've been looking to buy recently, I've seen alot of ex-rental houses - bloody state of them, nice houses but hard to see past the skidmarked undies on the floor - nice.

Unless the gob-smackingly obvious perfect purchase comes up... rent. Time pressure is that last thing you need when buying or selling a house.

    Good luck.
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
