Oh hey Bex, was thinking about you and your bike search, have you thought about trying a Bandit, they are a bit lower in seat height as well as being pretty great bikes (for a Suzuki) and if you're not sure about the Horney 900 then you can try a Bandit 600 or maybe an SV, but they are quite high. Good luck tomorrow, let us know how you get on.
Edit: Hey check out the ER6 and the GSR600 too, again, great bikes, all different and have their own pluses. I know how hard it is to look at anything past the Hornet, they are so pretty!

    Hi all,
Finally, finally have got my bike, (biggest smile ever).Went out and paid for it yesterday and asked them the usual questions yu need to know. The guy there asked how long since I had rode a bike, and when I told him the basic skills test 5 months ago was it really, he pulled out a little 125 trail bike and sent me off for a blat around the orchard by the shop.It was awesome and just the confidence boost I needed before jumping on my bike.Had to dodge a few pickers and the odd ute loaded up with stonefruit.God, I think I need a trailbike to.I can see this motorcycling is going to keep me broke.
I headed off not sure how far I would venture, but it all felt good and I felt confident enough so I ended up doing a 120 km backroad loop, lovely twisty roads and hardly any traffic until I came back through Havelock. The twisty bits where really good to practice cornering and it all went well. The only thing I had a problem with was remembering to turn off the indicator, which is dangerous when yu have just come round a left hander, indicator still going then go straight through a roundabout. So today I will have to concentrate a lot more on that, sorta forgot with concentrating on the gear changes. There are some great back country roads here in the Bay, we locals are lucky.
Stuck at work till 3.00, its just a gorgeous Hawkes Bay day outside, pedalled into work and its warm as, roll on 3.00 so I can pedal home and swop bikes.

Great news Alice!! That was some first ride you did!!
The indicator thing, I try to remember to cancel them after the first gear change after the corner, that doesn't mean I always do it tho.
See you Wednesday, if not before....

Great news Alice!! You have fun and be safe, the indicator thing will become second nature after a bit, make yourself a check list to run through in your head. Happy riding.

Excellent news Alice!! 120kms eh? Might have to eat me words! Pointers here, anytime you need.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
