The DR had to be crash started twice today (only worked in 4th gear).
It may have been the battery, as I very nearly flattened it when doing the transplant. The headlight was going, but not a sausage from the starter. Wasn't the normal DR starter issue either.

Once I got it going, the starter tried a little and when I got home after a 12min run, it started it 3 times no problem.
Just had it on charge for 5hrs. Will check it out tomorrow.

Better update this.
Replaced the battery, new charger, same problems.
Got an even betterer battery and before installing it, gave the starter motor a clean and bush lube.
Didn't need to install the battery.
Works like a charm now.

Remove roady bits off the CX bike and attach them to a brand spanking new, never been built up, 2011 Specialized Secteur frame.


Next step. Get skinnier tyres. 32mm is a little too much for the back and borderline on the front. Hope 28's will fit...

I think that and cold winters starts were the start of the demise of my battery. Shes a big lump to spin over when cold but always starts easy when hot
