The weather on Tuesday with marks was a bitch too...

That ride went from 6-18-7 deg over the day.
Friday over to Pelorus was 3 deg turning up to the caretakers up the Maitai.
Today was 10 deg at the same spot.

    Shot from Flora Carpark.

    The Furriners had fun...

A quick stop at home to check tyre pressures and drop off some luggage and we were off...

We headed off around the Coastal Highway to Apple Valley Road, Old Coach Road, Riverside, Chings, Waiwhero, Rosedale, Orinoco (my first complete bike slide due to diesel), Mt Arthur, West Bank, Sunday Creek, Dovedale Hill, Church Valley, Pig Valley, Wairoa Gorge and back home via the Port Hills.

Temps went from 6-20-7 deg through the day.
250km in 6 1/2 hrs of cruising and taking photos.

I had to take out about 2 hours of gravel as we didn't have time.
As it was, we only finished at about 6:30pm.

A good fun day mate, glad you could stop by.
I had an awesome day - thanks heaps for taking the time to give me the guided tour.

I posted a few photos here

    cheers

I've got that same shot on film, but with the trees covered in snow, been a few years since I was up there.

    Speedo review please!

    Hi Nordie
I just looked back to see what speedo you put on your DR and followed your link to the ACE-3100
I am just trying to get some 17in wheels fitted so need a speedo and better still a tacho. Are you still happy with yours and if not what would you change to? I have no plans for creating a SuperNordieWonderDash just need the basics for legal WOF reasons - but would love a Tacho for the track.
By the way thanks to you and others for the advice from this thread and the DR650 thread, I have learned heaps in the last year.

I'm happy with mine but I'd go with the Trailtech Vaypor(sp?).
They're available in NZ as opposed to getting it from overseas.

There's one on TradeMe at the moment with the DR mounting kit.
    Speedo/RPM/temp/shift-light etc.

Bonus with the Acewell is that it bolts to the existing speedo backing plate and doesn't require an adapter.

Just got some new gloves (Scott Sandiego - Red) and some neoprene grip washers to try and prevent blistering.

Got a Classic MX this weekend and a 3-hour Cross Country next.

Race day and I'm as nervous as an English rugby supporter.

Should have some better video footage 'tho as I've finally mounted the camera on the helmet

I wouldn't mind getting an old thumper to play around with off road & do the odd event.

    That was fun.
Not as much fun as the ANZAC classics meet but still fun.
I had to stop after 7 races as I couldn't hold onto the bars properly through the bumps anymore

Also had to take the DR around for a lap when they were pulling the track in.

I blew past the CR80 on the straight/sweeper - looser
