Had to modify the S180T mounting system.
The grub screws press on a thin metal plate inside the rubber to spread the load across the screen, but the plates walk when the screws get a bit of load on them.
I found some 2.5mm alloy from an old dash mount I made for the Nordwest and countersunk some 5mm depressions where the screws touch so they stay captive on the plate.

    It even works!

It's such a different bike to ride with the stock gearing and the little spoiler.
    So much more fun

Now to find a set of Renthal Enduro High 7/8 bars for it.
Then a longer throttle tube for the ProGrip 714 Rally's and some reinforced handguards.

Can't stand the ribbing on the grips that are on it.

Favorite grips from the last 20 years are Progrip 699 and 714.
They're both nice and soft, the 714 Rally is more barrel shaped.
City Motorcycles has the 699 for $20.
I prefer the 714's on the adventure bikes as they're a bit bigger diameter.

I liked the hexagonal ones you used to be able to get, haven't seen any for years though...
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

Who would have thought the side with the 5mm thick smaller flange goes to the outside...

So THAT'S why the chain wouldn't align!

If you put it on the inside you wouldn't be able to read all the pretty numbers

I put it on the same way the old one was mounted.
Was mounted by the workshop manager of a motorbike shop, previous owner
I can see the damage done to the chain retainer in the sprocket cover by the side plates touching it instead of the rollers being aligned with it.

A mechanic is only as good as his (or her) ability to follow the instructions on the packet

Now to get another (doh!) Givi screen and try the spoiler on it.

The tyres are looking and feeling a little sad with splits/cuts all over the place, especially in the rear Metzler Lasertec.
A pair of mighty 705's will solve that

Hmmm, there's no such beast as a 100/90x19 Shinko 705.
Will have to see if a 110/80x19 will fit.

Went around the fairing and jammed bike tube in wherever there looked to be something missing.
    Quieter again.

Thought NordieBro was joking around when he posted this to Facebook...

"When u win a series overall the bike deals come at u thick & fast ! So after careful consideration I went with this trick bit of kit for the first round of the 2018 south island enduro series in hokitika on the 7th of April. Grab ya mate's & we will c u there !"

    He wasn't...
