For those who dont know ...Royal Enfield have been around since adam was a lad.
Anyway they are made still in india, Well they are back at bonnieville again yup same as Burt munro sort of thing

Anyway a quick run down of the history ,,,Dan and Connie Holmes were a driving force in the American Enfield scene, Together with Kevin from Classic Motorworks they have made the enfield name live again.

Dan took the AMA number one plate a year or so back ...with a huge effort against the BSA gold Stars.

Also he ran the race bike at Bonnieville ...

Now they plan to return ,,,,with a streamliner ... to well have ago at the record ....

IF anyone is interested and want to contribute , PM they are a small ,,,as in SMALL group ..who are quite literally up against it ( dans heart is failing and he had to sell his business ....because of it ~ )

Hi Stephen , the goal is to raise a minimum of $3500.00 US or more.
This was a best guess estimate by Phil Myers and myself on the
minimal fixed costs of making the trip.

NEARLY DEAD IN THE WATER, THAT IS WHY I ASKED THEM IF WE SHOULD DO
THIS ,GLENN NEVER REALLY REPLIED HE JUST WENT AHEAD AND BUILT THE
ENGINE, SO PHIL AND I STARTED BUILDING A FRAME.
I ACTUALLY HAD A DREAM ABOUT RETURNING TO BONNEVILLE AND THIS
PROJECT STARTED BACK BEFORE I GOT SICK. BURT MONROE AND THE WORLDS
FASTEST INDIAN DID SORT OF INSPIRE US TO GET GOING AGAIN BUT WE WERE
IN THE WORKS PRIOR TO THE MOVIE. IN ANY EVENT WE ARE ALL DOING THIS
FOR THE LOVE OF IT! PHIL IS MOVING FORWARD ON THIS PROJECT IN MY
ABSENCE KEEPING IN MIND THAT HE DOES NOT NEED MY SUPERVISION TO
PROGRESS. IN ALL INSTANCES HE IS MORE PARTICULAR IN DETAIL AND
WORKMANSHIP ! IT IS THIS LEVEL OF CRAFTMANSHIP THAT IS SUCH A
PERSONAL THING,IT BECOMES ALMOST ART.

ps IF WE ACHEIVE ANY LEVEL OF SUCCESS IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL
