    Burning oil smells bad....

Turns out the gn is burning oil now well, not alot of oil. When its idling, the whitish blue smoke (thats stinky... yeesh) is only coming out a little bit... if you rev it, that mother f#cker billows out blue smoke when revving up, stops and then billows it out when revving down again

I noticed on the way home, theres a high pitched tapping (bordering on squeeky here) noise emmiting from around the exhaust (new slashcut) between 3500 and 4500 rpm...

my guesses (for the oil burning) is either valve stem oil seal or clogged oil ring... either way it looks like im pulling the head off. Now, do i need to take the entire engine out of the frame or can i just take the fuel tank off and slide the head off?

Oh yeah, theres no loss in power or difference in running in anyway... other than the squeeky tapping noise ofcourse...

looks like my baby's in hospital for a while now

any ideas on what else could be cause the oil burnin? ive stopped riding it as oil level has fallen to right on the low mark and i would like to keep my cylinder bore.

    Any help is appreciated

    Denis

Well, for a quick fix. Fill it back up with a thicker grade of oil and see what happens. Failing that, find a 2 stroke badge and stick it on yer tank.

I used to stick about a litre of transmission oil into my mini (gearbox and engine use same oil/sump) when it started smoking, it allready had some 'smokestop' product in it and still smoked. Seemed to do the trick? Prob not a good idea on a bike though, higher revvs an all...

Great advice... failing that frieght the bike to Dingdong and he'll sent you $300 and register it under his name for you.(JK)

What ever it is you'll need to take the head off, check the valves and seats, the top of the piston for cracks and the rings and bore... also could be a gudgen pin under the piston.

BAD FORM!!! nah, my dodgy for this repair will probably be soaking the oil ring in WD-40 overnight and blowing all the crap out of it with a compressor... bwahaha

Seriously now, i wanna do this properly, i still need the bike for another year.

Sorry, you're right. I was going to suggest running it on premix, but that can get a little expensive
