    Suzuki bandit engine help

hi, i am putting an old bandit 250 back together with hopes of getting it back on the road. i have got it running inconsistently, it will idle but when revved it will often hold the revs really high, it seems as though the throttle is sticking open but i have checked the cable and it is not sticking.

has anyone got any ideas as to why the revs would remain so high with the throttle in the resting position?

    cheers.

Have you checked to make sure the choke cable isn't sticking or moving when you turn the bars?

are you sure the butterflies are closing fully when you close the throttle? It might be the idle screw is too high?

I know on my bandit 400 if the throttle and choke cables aren't routed properly, turning the bars can make the engine rev or die, depending what way they are turned.

Cheers Erik will check butterflies, choke cable is fine, will have another look at idle screw again too, maybe a combination of things.
