I want to be there too. I have organised leave for Friday.
Please whoever let me know if an organised way of getting there is arranged cause I'll be in on that, group riding down or hired passenger van or whatever.

I don't know if I'll be able to get both days off. I was planning on leaving real early Friday morning, then spending Friday night in Wellington and riding back at a decent time on Saturday. But I'll see how things pan out.

yeah i think the same for me mate , u wanna try leave say around err 6.30pm thursday nyte and riding for about 4-5 hours then stop and carry on the next day?!

I think that would be a bit counterproductive IMO. Personally I'm thinking get a real early night Thursday, then up real early on Friday leaving Auckland at 4pm sharp. 8.5 hours to get down sounds about right and then we'll have 1.5 hours leeway/time to get stuff sorted. Then Friday arvo/evening just take it easy, get some sleep that night and head off on Saturday back to Aucks at whatever time is comfortable - no rush to get back.

I spoke to Texmo yesterday and thinking about organising a bus or even a minivan, I will at this stage be taking a car as well,as offered to Nikki and Dan a ride down in the car.
I need to know pretty soon how many people would be interested in a bus leaving early Friday morning and return on Saturday. I rang a few bus places yesterday obviously being so close to Xmas it maybe quite hard to arrange.
A good friend will bail you out of jail........
