Yeah i'm a fan of low weight over power, although low weight AND power sounds like fun After a mini bulletproof sounds nice, the thing goes wrong every time theres a week in the month!

I've seen enough vids to convince me of this one! By new do you mean relatively new leather (boots gloves etc) and new helmet? How trustworthy would you say tardme is for helmets?

A lady telling me i'm going to get sick of going slowly, I love this place!
Thanks for the offer! I'll take you up on that as soon as I can.
what kind of 250's would you recommend? bear in mind the entirety of my budget will probably be between 3k and 5K max including gear.

Thats more or less what i've done.. Except I haven't repowered it At least you can wring the nuts off em and be sure a new 1000cc engine is only $100!

Just don't touch my horse, last time some gypsies broke in and touch him in private place. He very depressed now.

I'll probably just lurk for the next couple months and post a few questions as I will be out of the country shortly, but i'll post more as soon as I get a bike, and hopefully see some of you guys on a 250 run, till then

Don't buy a helmet off Trademe, ever. Get all your gear from a shop where you can try it on first, never cut corners with this, you will regret it.
5k should get you good gear and a decent bike with no trouble, talk to people and go to bike shops for checking out models that you prefer, then try to find one privately when you know what you want.

Warning to bikers; this paragraph is about cars (cages?):
Until now my sole road experience has been mini's (2 of em)

Welcome to the site, im a newbie also so no knowledge to impart...but i have to say as well as my dear little gn i am learning on.....I drive a MINI!!!!! and i love them. i think mini driving is a good intro to bike riding as most car drivers treat me in the mini as i am expecting to be treated on my bike ie :invisible, being pulled out in front of cause im small etc... have fun choosing a bike
