I will most likely not be there - too much trouble to get there and the ankle isn't being ameniable.

Cool, will bring sausage rolls (to be cooked) and pikelets with jam and cream. Teresa is in the final of the handy capped squash tournament tonight so will be there for a short time.

    What a bloody great night.

Firstly, a BIG thank you to Celticno6 and Mrs C6 for their generous hospitality, and the wonderful fire.

Present were Mr and Mrs Celticno6, Mrs Celticno6's parents, Kickaha, CelticSeaLily, Hooks, HerB4, Mangell6 and Mrs Mangell6 (twice), Jim2 and Mrs Jim2, and Hamish and I. (I don't think I've forgotten anyone, if I have my sincere apologies) Oh, and the only motorcycle present was Celticno6's in his gargre. (we're not wimps, we just like our creature comforts!)

Food was superb, company was great, and it makes me realise (yet again) how motorcycling has such wonderful people.

Topped off a great KB ride during the day (see thread http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=4218 ).

Jim2: you are our official scribe, I look forward to reading your writeup of this great event. Not too much mention of my underwear please, or my painted private parts - you kind of had to be there to understand.

Hitcher: roll on the haggis night.

SpankMe, you are a marvel for creating this site.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Thanks so much to Simon & Gini for opening their home to us. Aside from our initial delay in getting there ( :disapint: ) I had a great time & managed to meet some more KBers. Great night guys & gals - lets do it again soon!

HUGE thanks to Lynda & Hamish for the ride home too!

    Roll out the Haggis!!

You're all very welcome. Good to meet a few more of you.

And I don't even have a hangover today!

Went to bed about 0200 this morning, after tidying up. Phew - talk about dishes - even though we used paper plates!

Lovely to see representation by five very nice scotches - Abelour, Tamdhu, Bowmore, Glenfiddich (can't remember which one, but it's brown - Jim2 will know - he brought it), and my personal favourite, my Lagavulin 16 year.

In the end, I think we decided that it was between the Lagavulin and the Glenfiddich, with the Lagavulin winning.

I started with the Abelour, a rather dry, slightly bitter Highland malt, then progressed to the Tamdhu, a nice light tasting Speyside, then I hit the Glenfiddich, and what a taste - a beautiful white chocolatey smooth taste which coated itself to the entire roof of the mouth and slowly sank down filling the mouth with a delicious malty feeling. Superb.

Then on to the Bowmore, an Islay, and I'm coming home. The lush, warm peaty aroma, and that delicious aftertaste - a combination of seaweed and wet dog fur.

Which of course, meant that I had to go for the Lagavulin next. And what can I say about this drop that hasn't been said already? It's the 16 year old variety, its thick, warm, peaty and smoky. It's my favourite!

Food was absolutely yummy. Company was great. Lots of laughs, lots of stories. A great night.

Bikers really are the best people!

    Cheers guys
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Thanks for a top night, things turned a to custard a bit when the ride out there fell through, but with your excellent hospitality for the evening it was well worth making the effort to get out there and to ride up there for it
