have you tried Vodafone 3G? I used it for a bit when I was sans telescum line and it was pretty good, certainly better than when I had woosh back in 2003'ish.

never considered vodafone to be honest? Thought it was geared towards the nerdy laptop businessman sitting in starbucks showing off to his friends, will check it out though, cheers.

Ok well been out in the sun sorting the antenna out...

    Heres my solution...

Routed the cable through the aluminum frame of the window - drilled holes through... next to glass.

Fabricated a bracket out of some aluminum angles and bolted the now silicone covered antenna to the wall..

    see pictures...

don't forget you get a lot of signal loss, the longer the cable is.
maybe try thicker cable? LMR400 maybe? looks like you're using LMR200 currently.

if anyone will do a high db gain antenna Hills probably will.

Cheers for that, that sites a bit out of my depth!!

I seem to be getting a good signal now, and woosh confirmed my increased signal strength.

Yeah the cable is rather long, LMR-195 Coaxial cable.

Not sure what that means though...

May be at ride tonight, bike needs looking at i think... got very hot today and the fan started up for the first time! so could be low on coolant...

    Thanks!

If i replace the cable with the lmr400 (?) all the way through will i be able to get connectors that fit??

If the cable connector on the side of the modem is unique to woosh, would i be able to solder the wire directly on the contact points of the connector?

    that connector is a MMCX.
the cable you probably have is MMCX to SMA.

the price of low loss cable will probably put you off lol
whats the distance of the cable you have now?

well original cable is 2m then that connects to the 4m extension cable they sent me... so about 6m all up. but could prob get away with 5m at a push...

How much am i looking at? Cost of connectors etc?
